Welcome to
The Bedford Garden Club
Web Site!
|
The Bedford Garden Club is located in Bedford, MA. We were founded on September 25, 1956 -- we celebrated our 50th year in 2006! We currently have 80 members in our club. Eight are honorary.
Our general meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday morning of every month (except June, July, and August). Most of our meetings are held in the Bedford Free Public Library Meeting Room, located next to the high school on Mudge Way in Bedford. The exceptions are our holiday party, annual meeting, and an occasional field trip. Our social hour begins at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting and program begin at 10:00 a.m. The Executive Board meets on the 4th Monday of the month in members' homes.
The purpose of our club is to stimulate among amateurs the knowledge and love of gardening, protection of native trees and plants, and encouragement of civic planting.
Our members help with fundraisers so that we may continue to support our civic projects and annual scholarship. We have interesting meetings, learn a lot, and have fun in the process!
We have been a member of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, Inc. since 2001.

Our officers from 2008 to 2010 are (from left to right): Bridget Clayton, Treasurer; Barbara Kupfrian, Secretary; Therese Bluhm, President; and Sylvia Mallory, Vice President.
